Some Marketing Ideas for the New Year
Posted in: Marketing Ideas
Almost a full decade on from the dot-com bust we find ourselves in an age where the internet is thriving, a world where the web has become central to everyday business. There is going to be plenty of articles analysing the ‘digital decade’ just gone, so instead I’m simply going to look at how you can get some unique promotion for your blog, product or business as we move into the new one.
Got a product to sell?
Try a special pricing: whether it be $20.10, $201.0, $2010 a special offer is always enticing, but with the added novelty of 2010 integrated, you’re certain to grab an extra customer or two.
Offering a service of some sort?
How about a limited number of special deals? I often tend to design logos in bursts, sometimes just taking on 10 projects in a promotion and not doing any more for a while. For the coming new year I’m contemplating an offer of just 20 logos at $10. 20 at $10. You could too. Let your mind get creative!
So I think by now you can see a pattern emerging? Ultimately the goal here is to use the numbers creatively.
A New Decade
The fact that we are entering an entirely new decade is something that can be harnessed as well and is certainly worth donating some thinking time to. You could offer a consulting service to help bring a clients website up to date for the new decade. There are lots of possibilities.
As for me in 2010? This year will see the 2010th day of one of my domain names. It’s a great and unique excuse to have a celebration or promotional event. Creating events that you can promote is superb for marketing your business. If you then put a contextual spin on the event, it’s a great way boost the interest.
Good luck with your promotions. Let us know how you plan to promote for 2010!
