I’m glad you’ve recognized the “sneakily viral” aspect of the contest. I think it goes along with my viewpoint about organic promotion. Instead of forcing people to share your stuff in order to win a prize, create content (in this case, the contest itself) that has a shareable aspect to it.
If everything works out according to plan, the contest post, my blog and everyone else’s blog will be promoted by the very nature of it. All without having to “con” people to retweet it.
